It’s truly amazing how fast the seo dynamic has grown in just the last year, let alone the past few years. As Ben Franklin once said “Necessity is the mother of invention.” and with that search engines have had the need to grow and provide more accurate search results.

I can remember a very uncertain time where a query for fruit would provide a list of results majority being porn. These days we know its not so easy to take advantage of the search engines. As a seo’er you have to learn what you can and can not do and it becomes clear that it isn’t easy.

Since most algorithims used by Google and other we’s are trade secrets you have to guy by common practices, theory and down right guesses. Plus once in a while a spy will leak a little secret out on to the web. With the many factors that go into deciding where you are indexed and how you are ranked we do know that it all comes down to links.

Links are the single most important factor in optimizing you site and ranking better on SERPs. Keep in mind folks that sometimes quantity isn’t always as good as quality. I would trade 50 regular linksfor one link on Whitehouse.gov.

As I opened my new iphone I realized that this society thrives on the fact that we want our information as fast as possible and available to us at all times. Yet we curse the companies who profit from giving us what we want. For example watching tv shows on the web whether it be on NBC or CBS we want the content but we don’t want to pay for it. Either with credit cards or by watching a simple 30 second prerole video. Our society trains us and rewards us for this thinking but is it just gradually making us a slower, lazier world.

Something as simple as the remote control allows us to do so much with such little effort. We don’t have to work hard to achieve the simples goals we have for ourselves. In a sense the great leaps in technology may be giving us immediate gratification but what are the long term benefits?

As a member of the human race I one can only notice the change our species has taken towards evolutionary advancments. Scientist no longer worry about this because what we lack in natures plan we make up with science. Diseases and genetic defects no longer have a say on… More to continue later

Hello All

This is the first of many posts. My name is Jesse Friedman, I work along side my colleague and business partner DJ Watson. We live and work in Rhode Island as web developers. Honestly that title doesn’t do us justice. We wear many hats in this industry including, graphic designers, web designers, photographers, geeks, nerds and what ever else people tend to call us.

This blog is designed as an outlet for whatever the hell we want to say. It’s supposed to be a place for us to talk about development and design but we will always sneak in a few comments on our likes/dislikes, people who have wronged us, what movies we like, how I enjoy long walks on the beach… Back to topic. My goal is to create a forum where developers can come to discuss what is happening out there on the internet. A place where we can congregate and talk about our industry and ways that we can take charge of the current path the internet is taking. Specifically talking about how to meet our goals, talk to clients, complete projects and more.

I hope you come back for more!
